The BELPEARL AUCTION event organized by BELPEARL AUCTIONS(HK) LTD resulted in an aggregated sale of approximately $ 5,524,574 USD. During a six day span, the auction showcased 765 lots of South Sea pearls from directly from producers from Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines and French Polynesia.

The September auction began with the quarterly Belpearl Tahiti Auction, featuring the latest pearl harvests from independent farms from across French Polynesia. “Despite the current overproduction and price volatility in the Black South Sea pearl market, our auction results showed that some of our finer quality producers were still garnering positive results.” said Michael Hajjar, Director of Business Development for the Belpearl Auctions LTD. “However, the current oversupply is causing serious questions on the long term viability of French Polynesia’s unregulated approach to supply. ” Following the Belpearl Tahiti Auction, the event continued with four days of White and Gold South Sea pearls, highlighted by premier producers the Indonesian based Timor Otsuki company and the Myanmar based Tasaki Pearling Company both of which fared strongly, despite the looming Hong Kong protest situation and the US-China trade tensions.

Belpearl Auctions is planning its next auction prior to the HKJMA Jewellery Show in Hong Kong November. Scheduled from the 22-26th of September, The event will be held at it's newly dedicated Pearl Auction Center space at the China Life Center @ OneHarbourGate in Hung Hom. The five day auction will feature the quarterly Belpearl Tahiti Auction as well as independent producers from both Indonesia and Myanmar and the Philippines.
