The BELPEARL AUCTION event organized by BELPEARL AUCTIONS (HK) LTD resulted in an aggregated sale of approximately $4,181,000 USD. During a five day span, the auction showcased 541 lots of South Sea pearls from directly from producers from Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines and French Polynesia.
“We had a hectic auction schedule over a five period, with our producers closing an auction every day. We began with two days of Indonesian producers, the Timor Otsuki Pearl Company and the Bima Sakti Mutiara company, and followed with the Myanmar Atlantic company, and the Sumpai Pearl Co. of the Philippines on the fourth day. We finally concluded the fifth day with the Belpearl Tahiti Auction said Michael Hajjar, director of business development for Belpearl Auctions. “Demand continues to good for South Sea pearls, especially for well sorted lots, though concern over a Chinese slowdown diminished the premiums that buyers used to apply, especially for lighter yellow colors.”
Belpearl Auctions is planning its next auction prior to the HKTDC Jewellery Show in Hong Kong. The auction will feature the Myanmar Pearl Enterprise’s auction, also known as the International Myanmar Pearl Auction from the 14-16th of February, followed by the Belpearl Auction featuring a range of producers including the Timor Otsuki Mutiara company, the Myanmar Andaman Pearl Company, as well as new producers from Indonesia and French Polynesia from the 19-23rd of February.
